Search engines are another great way to deliver a message. Consider a search engine the same as your local mall. When people search for a product or service online, they type keywords into the search box, the search engines provide that person with a virtual mall, EXCEPT, each store in this virtual mall carries the exact same product or service.

So, your store /company needs to be near the malls entrance, this is the equivalent to being at the top of the search engines. If your store is not near the entrance, people will naturally flow into the first store they see with the product or service they are looking for.

How Do You Get To The Top Of Google?

There are several ways to get on top of Google, here we list the “big three”.

  1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – On Website & Off
  2. Paid Search – Also Called Pay Per Click (PPC)
  3. Google’s Local Directory – Google Places /Maps

Each of these methods have the advantage of allowing you to target any zip code, town or geographical area. You don’t need to be listed in all three, but the more real estate you control on top of the search engines, the less there is available for your competition.
